Boston Bed Race
This event was created to bring awareness to the children in and around the Boston community who may not have a bed for themselves. The Boston Community Club has partnered with 1915 South (Ashley Furniture) Hope to Dream Charity, Carnegie Library, and Thomas County Schools to identify and help these kids. In doing so, we ask people to form a 5-person team, build a bed, decorate it based on a story book and race a short distance. In return, Thomas County Schools identifies those kids in need, Hope to Dream Charity donates a bed and the bedding for everyone, with the help of the Carnegie Library the Boston Community Club uses the entry fee to purchase age-appropriate books for each child. We hope through this process not only will people learn more about the growing problem in our area, but they will also have fun building and growing relationships. To learn more please email or call Elizabeth Burchette memaxwell0810@gmail.com or 229-403-0673.
